These are my favourite bars by far. I love them for combinations, and also

love them for beginner skills as they are slightly higher which can

make some skills easier. several of my clients have purchased these.

Pull-up bars

Like most skills in calisthenics. You want to be training

these more than once a week to see significant progress.

If you train 3x per week with good structure. you could
easily achieve your FIRST pull-up within 3 months.

If you do not have regular access to a gym, a pull-up bar

is one piece of equipment I would highly recommend

investing in.

These 2 below are my favourite pull-up bars:

I love using pull-up bars in my house. You can use the grease the groove method which I would highly recommend for a skill like this:

Grease the Groove (GTG): A method where you practice an exercise many times a day at low effort. For pull-ups, if your max is 5, you’d just do 2–3 reps on the bar several times throughout the day. You never go to failure—each set should feel easy.

Why it works for beginners: Frequent, low-fatigue practice trains your nervous system to get efficient at the movement, builds strength gradually, and avoids burnout. Since the bar is at home, it’s easy to sneak in mini-sets whenever you pass by.

Naoami's pull-up progress in 4 months with frequent training

(3x per week minimum)

Static Bar

This is probably one piece of equipment you may be

unfamiliar with (especially as a beginner).

However this is one of my favourite pieces of equipment

by gornation.

I have used the bar for years, so easy to set up and dismantle.

And it has helped my achieve many skills

(back lever, front lever, back lever and front lever raise)

There are so many more skills I am working towards that

I can't wait to do on this bar !

Accessories:

Resistance bands:

Resistance bands are one of the most valuable tools you can add to your training.

As I mentioned earlier in the pull-up bar section, I swear by them. If you can’t hold a skill for more than a second or two, you either need to step back to an easier progression or find a way to build up your hold time.

That’s where resistance bands come in.

I always recommend getting a pack of 3–4 different bands. You’ll quickly realise that different skills call for different levels of assistance.

Over time, as you get stronger, you’ll naturally move down to lighter bands. That gradual shift is a perfect way to track your progress.

They’re also fantastic for drop sets. For example, you might start a set with a lighter band, and once you hit fatigue, quickly switch to a stronger band to squeeze out extra reps. This technique keeps you working past failure, piling on more volume, and accelerating your progress.

£50.00 for a set of 4 - can also be purchased individually

Used these bands for as long as I can remember. I have achieved so many skills and they have lasted so long.

Helped me get my straddle front lever, back lever, l-sit to handstand. tuck planche, tuck planche press, bent arm planche, straddle planche, planche press and so much more 🥰

Wrist wraps:

I find wrist wrap helpful in my training which can be very intense. As a beginner you need to condition your wrists for things like handstand and push-ups etc, and wrist wraps can be a good support alongside this.

The 2 linked below are ones I have used for years and currently recommend to clients.

Light wrist wraps: £19.00 (full price)

good for those who need a little bit of extra support

https://www.gornation.com/products/light-wrist-wraps?ref=Vi8XZBL9

Wristbands: 14.00 (full price)

work to keep the wrists warm for training - less support - these are the ones I currently use.
